Who is the course for?

Anyone who is seeking a career in the emergency service, ambulance services, the event medical sector or those who work in a high risk workplace.

What does the course cover?

Successful candidates will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to be able to deal with a range of prehospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airway; catastrophic bleeding; management of fractures; medical emergencies and many more!

  • Airway Management
  • Adult, child and infant CPR & AED usage
  • Emergency oxygen
  • Traumatic injuries
  • Catastrophic bleeding
  • Shock
  • Poisoning and intoxicating substances
  • External and Internal bleeding
  • Helmet removal
  • Cervical collars and pelvic splints
  • Environmental exposure
  • Burns and scalds
  • Minor injuries
  • Incident reporting

Are there entry requirements?

Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of training.

There are no formal requirements to undertake this course however you are required to have basic level English literacy, language and numeracy. Basic understanding of First aid experience is advised.

Where is the course delivered?

The course is delivered at our purpose built training facility in Westbury.

How long is the course?

The course is normally delivered over 5 consecutive days. There is mandatory pre-course reading.

How much will the course cost?

Current course cost are £450 + VAT. This includes certification costs.
