PROSEC deliver SIA Security Training courses that enable successful candidates to apply for the Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licenses in a number of different disciplines including;

Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry

Your first step into security can be taking Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry. Though we do recommend taking the Level 2 Door Supervision course as it opens more avenues of work and the courses are held more frequently.

Students should expect to be undertaking approx. 28 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates that all students have a minimum of 18.5 contact hours over a period of 3 days if distance learning is undertaken and supported by the learning provider.  

This qualification has been approved for learners from the age of 16 but unfortunately they are unable to apply for their licence until they are 18 years of age.

To successfully pass the HABC Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry, each learner must pass all 3 mandatory units. 

  • Working within the Private Security Industry
  • Working as a Security Officer
  • Conflict Management.

Level 2 Award CCTV Operations Public Space Surveillance

Level 2 Award CCTV Operations Public Space Surveillance.

The course is run over 3 days with 8 hrs home study,this is module 1 Working in the Private Security Industry, which is required to be completed prior to attending the course.

The first 2 days will cover Unit 2 Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry. There is a 40 question multiple choice examination at the end of day 2, which the pass mark is 28 out of 40.

You will also have the examination for Unit 1, this will also take place at the end of day 2. Again its a 40 question multiple choice examination with a pass mark of 28.

The 3rd day of the Level 2 Award CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) course covers the Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment and this is held in an operational CCTV control room.

Previously our students have assisted the police to apprehend shoplifters and drug dealers during their time learning the Practical operations of CCTV Equipment.

 

 

Level 2 Award in Up-skilling for SIA Door Supervisors Course

ALL SIA Door Supervisors who completed their qualification, prior to June 2010 are required to completed their ‘Upskilling Course’ before renewing their current licence. If you are unsure if you require this qualification, please do not hesitate to contact us for further advice.

Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry

Your first step into security can be taking the Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry. 

Students should expect to be undertaking approx. 42 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates that all students have a minimum of 32.5 contact hours over a period of 4 days if distance learning is undertaken and supported by the learning provider.  

This qualification has been approved for learners from the age of 18 years of age. 

To successfully pass the HABC Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry, each learner must pass all 4 mandatory units. 

  • Working within the Private Security Industry
  • Working as a Security Officer
  • Conflict Management.
  • Physical Intervention 

Even though you are taking the Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry, you do not have to work on "The Doors" with this qualification you can work static, retail, RST and events.
