Your first step into security can be taking Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry. Though we do recommend taking the Level 2 Door Supervision course as it opens more avenues of work and the courses are held more frequently.
Students should expect to be undertaking approx. 28 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates that all students have a minimum of 18.5 contact hours over a period of 3 days if distance learning is undertaken and supported by the learning provider.
This qualification has been approved for learners from the age of 16 but unfortunately they are unable to apply for their licence until they are 18 years of age.
To successfully pass the HABC Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry, each learner must pass all 3 mandatory units.
- Working within the Private Security Industry
- Working as a Security Officer
- Conflict Management.
