Level 2
This course is for learners who currently hold a Security Officers license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and wish to continue working as a security officer.
- Have an in-date SIA Door Security Officers Licence
- Hold an in-date HSE-complaint First Aid Certificate – Valid for at least 12 months
- Sufficient English speaking and literacy skills
- Have no criminal record
- Proof of ID & residency
- 1 Day – Classroom-based

Course Overview
SIA Top-Up Upskilling Training for Security Guards and Security Officers is designed to keep your skills up to date with the needs of the modern security industry.
It’s not just a skill refresher course. The changes to security work introduced to SIA Licensing in April 2021 are mandatory qualifications that all security professionals now need to have. Security Guards, therefore, need to take Top-Up Upskill Training before renewing their SIA Licence.

Includes:
- Terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat
- Minimising risk to personal safety
- Actions to take concerning global (or critical) incidents
Assessment
Two multiple-choice exams and a trainer observation
