Close Protection Top-Up
Course Information
Intended Audience
This is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Close Protection operative and need to be brought up to date with the new license linked qualifications.
Pre-requisites
- Be 18 years or older
- Sufficient English speaking and literacy skills
- Have no criminal record
- Proof of ID & residency
- Must hold a valid Level 3 (RQ/QCF) (Level 6(SCQF)) 3- day first aid qualification
Course Overview
The Close Protection Top-Up training is designed for individuals who already hold an SIA Close Protection licence. The training is designed to update and refresh the knowledge and skills of Close Protection operatives, as well as introduce new techniques and procedures relevant to the field.
The training covers a range of topics and is focused around the Physical Intervention skills that may be required by CP operatives.
Course Syllabus
Includes:
- Principles of working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection operatives in the private security industry
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry
- Application of Physical Intervention skills for Close Protection operatives in the Private Security Industry
- Principles of terror threat awareness in the private security industry
Assessment Term
This course is assessed by a mix of multiple choice exams and tutor assessment for physical skills.
